Soooo… about that Project 365…
I saw a bunch of “1/366” attached to photos on my dashboard yesterday. First of all, HA-HA YOU GUYS PICKED A LEAP YEAR. And second of all, good luck! It’ll be super rewarding afterwards. You just gotta get there.
I had a hate/love relationship with Project 365. At the start, I knew I was going to be forcing myself to take pictures on some days, but I didn’t know that it would happen so often. If you look through the pictures, you can really tell which ones I actually wanted to take, and which ones I hurriedly snapped at 11:59 PM.
I don’t think I necessarily became a better photographer. I didn’t really teach myself any different techniques but I did experiment more. I didn’t teach myself how to properly use different equipment but I did find out more about what kind of pictures I like to take and I did notice a pattern in how I like to post-process them afterwards. I know more about what inspires me and what, to me, makes a good photograph.
…Okay never mind, I guess I did get better in some ways.
I had no doubt about following through with it. I know I can discipline myself and I knew I was going to stay committed even if at some points I didn’t feel like it was doing anything for me. I probably won’t do it again, but I’d say try it if you haven’t. I mean, it’s only 365 366 pictures, right?
